GOD'S TIME EP 5
EPISODE 5
PAUL'S MOM POV
''Prophetess, this boy is my only son and I do not want him to marry that girl, she is older than him.''
''But their destiny is tied up together''
''I don't care, I do not want them together, so do whatever it takes to split them.''
''I am not a native doctor madam, I am a prophetess of God, you came for my advice and that's what I am giving you.
''Martha, you brought me to a fake prophetess right?'' What is she saying?'' Whatever she is saying isn't making any sense to me.
''Calm down na...She is a genuine prophetess, she always sees accurately, so listen to her.'' Martha tries to appease me.
''No! There is no way that she is seeing clearly. This cannot be the will of God. God will not allow someone marry a woman older than him, that is not done.''
''And did God say it is supposed to be someone younger? He did not give age limits, so the age is not an issue.'' The Prophetess tries to explain.
''But what will people say? That my son married an older woman who is almost reaching menopause. They won't even have children. God forbid.'' I can't imagine not having many grand children.
''It is God that gives children. If it His will that they have kids, so shall it be, if not, He still has a purpose for them. And let us forget about society, God does not work like man. His ways are mysterious and sounds crazy to man. My advice is that, you do not stand in the way of their destiny. There is a purpose for them both.''
''Maybe you should pray about it.'' Martha adds.
''You know I have not actually done that? I have been so consumed by my negativity that I have not even prayed about it. I will do so today.'' I have been so overwhelmed by my rejection of Maureen that I haven't had the initiative to pray about their relationship.

A NOTE FROM AUTHOR
A penny for your thought
1) Is Society right with the issue of age difference?
2) Does God have an issue with Maureen being older than Paul?
3) Are societal standards of marriage biblical?

Society has practically nothing it has gotten right about those principles which are initiated by God.
ReplyDeleteWith God the purpose for two people coming together is more important than their age, background, status, know-how, etc. So it is a definite no.
Most of them are not biblical, and it simply because most people don't study marriage from the bible, their information is greatly what their culture has define.
