GOD'S TIME EP 3
EPISODE 3
THREE MONTHS LATER
TASHA'S POV
"What? You are getting married to Paul?" To say I am shocked is an understatement.
"Yes!" Maureen replies with the biggest grin as I can't stop staring at the shiny bezel setting diamond ring on her ring finger. It makes me remember her great sense of joy when we were kids, the kind of joy that I haven't seen in her for a long time.
"Maureen, you've known this guy for just three months and now you are engaged?" I still need to make some sense out of this whole scenario.
"Yeah. I have never been so sure of my decision Tasha, trust me."
"But you don't know this guy well enough. I understand hat you are desperate and pressured by your family and age, but darling marriage is not a child's play, its a serious issue and requires scrutiny." I am trying my best to make how see how terrible her decision is. I hope she does.
"I know Tasha, but I have prayed about this and I keep getting the same answer. I am certain that Paul is my soulmate. Just like you and Simon."
I am Maureen's best friend, we've been friends since we were 3. I am 2 weeks older than her and have been married for 8-years now. Maureen has always been the naive one and I have always felt the need to protect her. But we are adults now, I really hope she knows what she is getting into.
MAUREEN'S POV
Tasha's reaction is completely natural, everyone who hears this will obviously think I am crazy, but they do not understand, they cannot understand. I know what God has shown me and I am believe him. I know Paul is my husband.
"If your mind is made up, then I support you. You are my best friend, more like a sister to me. I just want you to be happy. But please think this through again." Tasha explains. I can see every bit of worry in her eyes, but I am sure of what I am doing.
PAUL'S POV
"Mbam!" The sound of the glass smashing the wall hit my ears.
"Never!" is my mom's response as I announce my engagement to her.

A NOTE FROM AUTHOR
A penny for your thought
1) Do you believe the engagement is happening too fast?
2) Do you think that God is involved in this?
3) What is your advice to Maureen and Paul at this stage?

Nope.
ReplyDeleteI think so
They are adults and they are at a cross road where their decision will determine their sustainable joy together, or will be hanged on people. So I will tell them at this point both must take a stand on what conviction they've built over time.
